 After undergoing two ACL surgeries as a teenager (without EVER getting referred to physical therapy), Dr. Kim learned firsthand how broken our healthcare system is as a youth athlete. She worked for several years in a sports-specific insurance-based practice, but  saw limitations within that system and started Lakás PT & Performance in 2022. Her main objective is to help every client that comes through the door regain the confidence to not only get past their injuries, but become a stronger, more resilient version of themselves.

Ankita Roy, PT, DPT

Performance Physical Therapist

Ankita is a physical therapist whose personal mission is to empower you through movement. Ankita got her doctorate at Radford University in Virginia in 2021 and moved to Sacramento in 2023. A firm believer of movement is medicine, Ankita got into this field after seeing how traditional healthcare often falls short in addressing the true needs of us as dynamic humans. In her free time, you can find her at the gym olympic lifting, reading at the park or grabbing ice cream at Gunthers. Her specialties include barbell athletes, crossfit athletes and chronic pain athletes.

Joe Mcintire Sacramento Physical Therapy
 

Joe Mcintire, PT, DPT

Performance Physical Therapist

As a provider, Joe is passionate about patient-centered care, restoring movement, and helping individuals get back to the sports and activities that they love. He played two years of college baseball before dedicating his studies towards becoming a physical therapist. After graduating in 2020 from the University of St. Augustine, Joe returned to Northern California to help his community thrive. When treating clients, he believes that every individual has a unique story requiring a personalized approach to help them reach their goals. He has special interests in treating overhead athletes and golfers for pain and performance. Joe is an avid golfer and continues to play baseball in a men’s summer league. He also enjoys exercising, getting outdoors, playing with his two dogs, caring for his plants, and traveling.

Rae Clarkson Sacramento Physical Therapist
 

Rae Clarkson

Patient and Performance Specialist

Rae has been an athlete for as long as they can remember, starting with soccer, field hockey, track and field, and swimming, before discovering a love for ultimate frisbee. They began competing at the collegiate level at the University of Texas at Austin while studying biology and sociology. After college, Rae continued playing with leagues and club teams across the country before relocating to Sacramento in 2018, where they competed semi-professionally with the Bay Area Falcons.
Before transitioning into human performance and medicine through a degree in Kinesiology, with a focus on Strength and Conditioning, Rae spent over a decade as an ER and ICU Veterinary Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, and Practice Manager. And after experiencing three ACL tears and four knee surgeries over a 15-year span, Rae understands both the physical and emotional demands of rehabilitation, and the life-changing impact of doing it right.

Lisa originally hails from Fairfax, Virginia.  Lisa's journey led her to San Diego in 2013, and eventually, she found her place within the vibrant community of Sacramento in 2021.  Lisa's lifelong engagement in sports, including soccer, basketball, and track and field, has instilled in her a deep appreciation for the importance of physical well-being. During her college years, she discovered a passion for ultimate frisbee, competing actively until her mid-20s. After a hiatus, Lisa's move to Sacramento reignited her love for the game.  With a bachelor's degree in communication, a master's in public health, and a US Army Veteran, Lisa possesses a unique skill set that enables her to connect with our patients on various levels.
